Today started out very sad. Rufus had been missing for two days. Eric got a call this morning that is still hard to believe. A very nice man saw Rufus on the side of the highway and was kind enough to call and even bring him to our home. Rufus apparently had wondered onto the highway next to our home and was hit head on. We are thankful that he didn't suffer and that the man was kind enough to bring him home. Rufus was buried under a tree next to our home. Good-bye Rufus!

Sorry to hear about Rufus :( Only met him one time, when he was an energetic puppy. Hard to imagine the old boy was almost six years old.
So sorry to hear about Rufus. The house will surely feel empty for quite a while without his lively energy. Aunt Beth
